Fitness for me is about feeling good, strong and capable of reaching for my goals. It’s about being healthy, pain free, moving well, having ALL the energy and constantly learning new ways to enjoy and improve movement.
With my style of training I encourage you to think outside of the box and explore different ways to move and have fun with the process. It’s more than the time spent in a gym, it’s about creating lifestyle changes that can be integrated into your everyday life.
As a coach I know that fitness isn’t fun or enjoyable for everyone, that it’s not easy for a lot of people to take even the first step, but I also know the importance of encouraging the smallest of steps to make sustainable, long term lifestyle changes for a more enjoyable existence.
In my twenties I turned everything around in my life. Working as a 9-5 office worker I was a heavy smoker, excessive drinker and I felt rubbish for it. I knew that I could be better than who I was at that time, that I could feel so much better.
My fitness journey started with running, in the beginning I used it as a form of escape and a distraction from old habits. In the end, it has become a big part of my lifestyle and who I am.
Discovering my competitive streak later in life, my first big event was London Marathon, from here I feel in love with the atmosphere of events and competition. I soon discovered having endurance wasn’t enough for me and wanted to be stronger and a more diverse athlete. I competed in a boxing match, obstacle courses and Strong Woman events in England.
Completing the full circle I returned to running, combining my new found strength and endurance I completed the Marathon Des Sables in Morocco. A 250km self sufficient multi stage race across the Sahara Desert, finishing in the top 20 female runners. My most recent event, the Surf Coast Century, a 100km Ultra Marathon along the Victorian Surf Coast in Australia.
Over the years I’ve explored different training methods, but always return to my love of bodyweight and kettlebell training for the diversity and simplicity they provide.
Over the last decade I have been coaching the every-day athlete, from the very beginning of their fitness journey to become stronger and to move more confidently working with a wide range of abilities
The more you succeed in something the more you want to succeed in something else. Movement keeps me achieving. Imagine what good strong movement can help you achieve.
